The Panther Field Hockey camp is designed to introduce the game of field hockey to young players who have not had the opportunity to try the sport and to teach the fundamental skills as well as team and game concepts that are so critical to the sport. Field hockey is under-represented in our area, and our goal is to improve understanding of the sport while reaching an audience that deserves the chance to continue, or try for the first time, this exciting and enjoyable sport.
Coaching Bio:
Dan Feher: Coach Feher completed his 7th Varsity season at Paint Branch with a 14-2 record and the program’s 2nd division championship in 3 years. Overall, Coach Feher is 65-43 and has seen the team grow from an average program into a competitive group with strong fundamental skills and a significant bond among players.
Caitlin Street: Coach Street completed her first year as the JV Head Coach. She played field hockey in high school as a defensive back and looks forward to many more years with the Panthers.
Panther Field Hockey Camp would like to get more young players involved in field hockey prior to high school, growing the sport and extending its reach to a more diverse audience. We would like each camper to:
- Leave camp with a greater understanding of field hockey.
- Develop fundamental skills and understand how to continue their improvement beyond this camp.
- Have lots of fun!
Specifics:
The camp will provide: field hockey balls, some sticks, and a camp t-shirt
Campers should bring a stick (if they have one), a lunch, shinguards and a mouth guard.
We recommend eye protection (goggles) and extra socks, though they are not required.
